After beating my head against the wall over other interface’s specifically presonus I came to the conclusion that you get what you pay for. The only Con I would say is that there is a fairly steep learning curve to the routing software. The Fireface is the world’s most powerful FireWire audio interface ever. Each of the mixer’s output channels, that is every single submix channel, can be recorded directly, without the need of external cable loops. It also features the SteadyClock system to help control the sample rate and an ADAT optical interface, which gives you the ability to transfer recordings between electronics equipment. The Speaker Emulation filter, which can also be switched on separately, takes low- and high-frequency disturbances away and guarantees an optimal basic sound even when recording directly into the computer, or when monitoring through a mixing console.
Few can touch it, let alone surpass it one might be the RME successor even 14 years later. SteadyClock allows the Fireface to control the sample rate freely on its own. Up to 16 channels ADAT input and output 8 at 96k. Due to a soft xudio and deliberate creation of harmonics, the input auio is compressed steplessly according to taste, fideface the limiter can be used for distortion with tube sound.

I am planning on swapping my D8B towards a Toft somewhere down the line. I installed it and it automatically fireafce worked, no drivers or anything.
